Categories

Categories enable the grouping of similar resource types under patron-friendly headings to help make their content self-explanatory.

Click Categories in the left-hand sidebar.

Example Categories are loaded initially, but you can edit or remove existing entries and create new entries as needed.

Name: the label which will appear in the panel. You can include html to style it individually if desired.

Sort order: the order in which multiple Categories will be shown. Enter 1 (highest priority) to 999 (lowest priority). This will allow you to give prominence to particular entries or always ensure one is at the end of the list. If Categories have the same sort number, then they are sorted alphabetically. The default sort order is 100.

Origins: the environments in which the category will appear. Choose one or more origins and then move them to the Selected box.

Categories will ask for Origins and Origins will ask for Categories, so both will be consulted more than once.

For those Libraries that have a multi-language setup for their system, there is the opportunity to add alternative Category names for each of the languages the system supports.
