Search Results
Whenever a user submits a search, Millennium will retrieve a system-generated page. These pages are not static HTML pages, and cannot be customized in the same way as other pages (mainmenu.html for example). These pages can be customized using Web Options, specialized HTML pages, and style sheets. The format of the page that is returned depends on the results of the search.

The system will always resolve a search to the lowest possible level. If the system can return a single record to satisfy the search, it will. If not, it will attempt to return a list of records, and if it can not accomplish that, it will retrieve a list of headings for the user to browse. If no match can be found, such as in the case of a spelling error, the system will either return a page that shows where the search term would be if it were indexed, or it will return an advanced search page to allow the user to alter their search.

As you navigate through the next few pages, please keep in mind the different types of results pages that the system will offer. From most general to most specific, they are Index browse, Record browse, and Bibliographic display.
