Phrase indexes are indexed left to right as a phrase, with automatic truncation. Depending on how many hits are retrieved from a WebPAC search, a user will see a headings browse screen, a record browse screen, a bibliographic record, or a no headings retrieved page. All indexes except the Keyword index are phrase indexes. The most common are Title, Author, and Subject. The following pages discuss phrase index searching and search results.
