Origins

Origins are where you will start from to link to a Pathfinder Pro Resource and may be the WebPAC/Encore or a Millennium Module.

Click Origins in the left-hand sidebar.

The Origins that can be selected for Pathfinder Pro are listed. They are WebPAC/Encore and the Millennium modules that you choose. You do not need to define any Origins yourself. Set up Millennium modules as Origins where a staff member is likely to need help from your Resources while searching for further information, e.g. Acquisitions or Cataloging staff: checking bibliographic details.

You can move into the selected box, those from your list of Categories that should be available for this Origin, so for a WebPAC Origin, you would not want to show Staff Resources and for a Millennium Module Origin you would probably not want to show all Categories. If you wish to see more details on the Categories, click the More Info link on the right.

These Categories should be established before working on your Origins, to save you time.

You can set whether the system should log statistics from this origin.

The Category Suppression Rule allows you to tailor your context -sensitive linking by Origin. You can select one to stop one or more Categories from displaying if a more useful Category is available. For example, you can suppress the link to citation databases if there are full-text database resources available.
