Origins

External Origins are where you will start from to link to a WebBridge LR Resource and may be the Encore Synergy or an electronic database or webpage.

Click Origins in the left-hand sidebar.

Click the Create New button and an Origin (new) tab will appear.

Assign this External Origin to a Category, or a number of Categories. Enter a name and an sid/rfr_sid for the Origin and then SAVE

You can move into the selected box, those from your list of Categories that should be available for this Origin. If you wish to see a little more details on the Categories, click the More info link on the right.

You can set whether or not this Origin utilizes an External Lookup such as CrossRef or Efetch.

You can determine whether or not this is a Direct Connect Resource.

You can set whether the system should log statistics from this origin.

The Category Suppression Rule allows you to tailor your context -sensitive linking by Origin. You can select one to stop one or more Categories from displaying if a more useful Category is available. For example, you can suppress the link the link to the Interlibrary Loan page if there are full-text database resources available.
