Two Methods

There are two methods to using Web Access Management.

The proxy method uses a limited proxy and an automatic proxy configuration file to proxy the user's request on to the vendor server. This method requires browser configuration by the user. The proxy method of Web Access Management works with almost all sites, including those that use JavaScript.

The proxy rewrite method uses URL configurations to make the Innovative server act as a proxy server for patron browses. Using this method, the client browser software requires no configuration. Patron browses automatically use the Innovative server as a proxy to external resources.

Your library should decide which method it will use.

The next few pages explain in detail how to set up the two methods.
