Long delay at beginning of a message.

Solution: split the INTRO message into two messages to make less dead air at the beginning.

1. In the TNS Recording Studio (see Step 3_2.html) set the level to 20ms
2. Add a new file called HELLO.MSG with only the word Hello in it
3. Set the level back to 1000ms and add a file called INTRO.MSG. The text of this file should be everything else from the standard INTRO.MSG after Hello:
   This is your public library...
4. Edit the Message profile. From the TNS Mainmenu select:
   7 > Parameter setup Press Enter
   2 > Message profile Press Enter
5. At the 01 MSG_ID line, type the profile name you need to change in capitals, e.g. HPØ (zero) and press Enter
6. Select line 06 COMPONENT_FILES
7. Insert the HELLO.MSG message file before the INTRO.MSG file in the list of components

Background hum in re-recorded messages
This is caused by disturbance from your telephone line.

Solution: disconnect the phone from the TNS PC.

1. Unplug the phone cord from the Rhetorex board (phone card in PC)
2. Record message texts again (see Step 3_2.html)
