If you have two copies of the same bib and the bib is needed for different course records, consider adding the item record only -- one to each course. This way your library can specify separate item types, with potentially different loan periods, for each item.

Follow the steps in attaching a record as described in . Keep the Item type and item location the same as you set it during the first course. When you reach the point of adding the record to the second course, Sierra will stop you with a warning and ask you to proceed.

Click Yes. If you changed the Item type or item location from the original setting, Sierra will warn you.

Sierra will only add the record using the same Item type and item location set when it was added to the first record. Sierra cannot have the same item with two different item type or item location values.
